EXHIBITION "MIRADA DE UNA PINTORA FRANCESA SOBRE ESPAÑA" OF VALERIE BLANCHARD | 2nd of July 2010 | ![]() |
PATH Self-taught painter, she was born in Paris in 1965. She had a very nomadic childhood. From age 19 she began working in different industries, from agriculture to music. She was spending some time in the circus world. She has also lived 8 months in South America Later, she discovered his vocation when she posed for the painting artist Yasumasa Toshima in Granada (Andalucía). Since 1993 her work exhibits regularly in France, Spain, Germany and Belgium. ARTISTIC TRAVEL "Feet to the ground, head in the clouds" ... Valerie Blanchard paints what parades and passes in front of their eyes, as others photographed at the mercy of his journeys, pilgrimages, home ... The small squares represent everyday scenes of human beings. On the beach, in bars, block parties, shopping ... a sociological study carried out with images instead of words. After she has taken note and sketches in a notebook that it is always with her, she returns to his studio to capture it with paintings on canvas. Her work is full of bright colors in a style falsely "naive" with a note of irony. The cheerful abundance and relevance of details, authorizing a prolonged reading. Her work looks like a mixture of Afro-Latin American Bolero but with a style that makes her work truly unique. | ||
